Twitters Newest Partner Helps You Tweet Your Valentine

With Valentines Day just around the corner, I am sure you have seen those little candy hearts that come out around Valentine’s with the little messages on them such as “hug me” & “kiss me.” Well, now the Sweethearts candy will have a new message for this years batch – “tweet me”. Your odds of getting one of these is about one in 60, so I assume this will help boost sales of an already popular candy.

In addition, the company is launching an iphone app that allows you to send virtual Sweethearts boxes to your valentine. Read the full story at USA Today.

Happy Holidays from OldSchool SEO

As the year comes to an end, I want to thank everyone who has visited, subscribed, commented, and contributed in any way to OldSchoolSEO. I have not blogged much lately and that is because of some exciting changes that have taken place and I look forward to hopefully sharing more soon.

As you spend time with family and friends, I want to ask you to remember those who may be struggling during the holidays, whether it’s financial such as a job loss or pending foreclosure, or a health challenge. Many of you may not know, but last Christmas was very tough for our family because my wife was very sick. By God’s grace, she is much improved and is enjoying this Christmas much more than last.

In the spirit of giving, I would like to ask that you remember a family that is very near to me as their son is going through a battle with a rare form of cancer. He has just received a bone marrow transplant and the recovery is less than desirable. Here is a snippet from his website in his dad’s words:

Medicine is not an exact science. There are several clinical indicators that tell Justin’s medical team that his transplanted cells are doing something – starting to engraft (grow) that is… Justin has a rash that covers 80 percent of his body. For the past 5 days he has maintained a constant body temperature/fever between 103 and +104. He has patches of skin starting to “slough” off his head and neck, and his entire body (hips, back, ribs and left leg) constantly ache.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and if you are able to help them out financially, I know they will be blessed. Having experienced a medical crisis in our family, I personally know how financially devastating it can be. I would never ask anyone to do something I haven’t done and my wife and I have made a donation already. Don’t feel that any amount is too small.

I wish you all a Happy and safe Holiday Season.

Happy Canada Day!

To all of my Canadian friends and readers, I would like to wish you a wonderful Canada Day. In fact, I’d like to join you in celebrating by taking the day off myself. If I didn’t just get back from a long weekend in Las Vegas, perhaps I could pull it off, but given that I will be off again Friday, I guess I need to get some work done.

Mothers Day Giveaway for Mom Bloggers

First, I would like to honor all of the moms out there and wish each one of you a very Happy Mothers Day. I have had the privilege of working and networking with many mom bloggers over the past year. I have enjoyed learning from you all and I am thankful for all of the support that you have given me (and my site).

Every Mom Needs some pampering, right? As much as I’d like to be able to bless each one of you with a day of pampering, the best I can do for now is to offer a one hour massage from Massage Envy (or comparable center, if there is no Massage Envy near you) to the mom blogger that does the best mothers day related blog post. It doesn’t have to be posted on mothers day, and it can be related to you as a mom, your mom, of just something related to Mothers Day (a special memory, etc).

No need to stress about it this weekend, just post sometime between now and Sunday, May 18th. Make sure to add a reference to the contest with a link to the contest at the end of your blog post. It doesn’t have to be a brand new post either, you can link from anything you have written related to Mother’s Day at any time. Every time someone clicks through from your site to this blog post, it will count as a “vote” and the blogger with the most referrals from her site wins. You must agree to be listed as a winner so people know that someone got the prize. This offer is open to US and Canadian residents only.

Happy Mother’s Day!
