@ Glenn – I believe it depends on the keywords you use as to the results you get because the words can serve different purposes, so I recommend using very specific keywords. I hope that helps.

I’ve been using this service for some time, tracking news and analysis in the areas I cover. The alerts can be two-thirds off-topic, depending on the terms you use when you sign up. So you might want to experiment. On the whole, Google Alerts are terrific.

Thanks for the recommendation to my post about setting up Google Alerts. This strategy has helped me so much, not only to see what’s happening with my sites, but also to track competitors, specific keywords, and see new sites that I may link to.
